Gonzalo Garcia Makes Switch to Fulham from Real Madrid in €40m Deal

In a significant move, English football club Fulham has finalized the acquisition of Spanish striker Gonzalo García from renowned Spanish club Real Madrid. The transfer is valued at €40 million (£34m), with García committing to a five-year contract that extends until 2031, alongside an option for an additional year. García's football career began at Real Madrid's academy, which he joined at the age of 10. Throughout his time at the club, he made 51 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and achieving notable success, including winning the Champions League and LaLiga in 2024. His move to Fulham reunites him with Álvaro Arbeloa, who previously coached him during his time at Real Madrid's youth setup and is now at the helm of Fulham. Expressing his gratitude, García stated, 'I’m very grateful, very happy to be here. I have to thank the board and [Álvaro] Arbeloa for the trust they’ve put in me, and I’m very, very excited to start.' This signing comes on the heels of Fulham losing key attackers, including last season's top scorer Harry Wilson, who joined Leeds, and Mexican forward Raúl Jiménez, who opted to re-sign with Wolves in the Championship.
