ECOWAS Offers Young Nigerians Fully Funded Career Opportunity

In a bid to foster regional integration and develop the skills of young professionals, the Economic Community of West African States has launched its 2027 Young Graduates Immersion Programme. This initiative, which was announced on July 31, 2026, provides a unique opportunity for young Nigerians and citizens of other ECOWAS member states to gain professional experience in a regional institution. The programme, which is fully funded, will last for one year and offer participants the chance to work on projects that support regional integration across West Africa. To be eligible for the programme, applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS member state, including Nigeria, and must be 32 years old or younger. They must also hold a degree in a relevant field from a recognised institution. The application period, which commenced on July 31, 2026, will close on August 31, 2026. Interested Nigerians can submit their applications through the dedicated ECOWAS Young Graduates Immersion Programme portal at youngprofessional.ecowas.int. The application process involves six stages, including creating an account, filling in personal and contact information, providing academic and professional background details, uploading required documents, reviewing and validating all submitted information, and submitting the completed application. According to ECOWAS, successful applicants will gain professional experience in its institutions and agencies, advanced training and personalised mentoring, leadership development opportunities, and access to a network of regional and international experts. The organisation believes that this programme will develop the next generation of African professionals while strengthening regional cooperation and development across its member states.
