Police Chief Tasks New AIGs, CPs on Integrity, Professionalism

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has admonished newly promoted senior officers to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. During a decoration ceremony held at the Force Headquarters, Disu congratulated the newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and Commissioners of Police, describing their elevation as a testament to their dedication and commitment to the Nigeria Police Force. The IGP emphasized that the new ranks bestowed upon them come with increased responsibilities, stressing that they have earned the trust of the Force through their meritorious service. Disu acknowledged the sacrifices made by the officers, including time spent away from their families and the difficulties they face in the line of duty. He reminded them that their conduct would serve as a model for junior officers, adding that their character and discipline would set the standard for the entire Force. The police chief urged the newly promoted officers to lead by example, exhibiting zero tolerance for corruption, abuse of power, and misconduct. He also encouraged them to lead with compassion, taking care of the welfare of officers under their command. Disu reiterated the Force's commitment to building a modern and technology-oriented police service, emphasizing the importance of public trust in effective policing.
