Ireland Unveils Fully Funded Master's Scholarships for Nigerian Professionals

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has officially announced that applications for its 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme are set to commence on June 29. This initiative offers eligible Nigerians a unique opportunity to pursue a fully sponsored Master's degree in Ireland.
This development was communicated by the embassy through a post on its official X account on Friday, June 26. The scholarship programme targets early and mid-career professionals from both Nigeria and Ghana who are interested in undertaking a one-year Master's programme at various Irish universities. The embassy's statement read, “Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme opens on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master’s scholarship.”
Further information regarding the programme and its application process for candidates from Nigeria and Ghana can be accessed via the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal, as indicated by the embassy. To be considered eligible, applicants must be resident nationals of either Nigeria or Ghana, possess a minimum of a Second Class Lower Bachelor's degree, and have at least three years of relevant work experience.
Additionally, the embassy highlighted that Nigerian applicants are also qualified for the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights. This specific fellowship provides support for Master's programmes in fields such as law, human rights, and governance. The comprehensive scholarship package covers tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, accommodation assistance, air travel expenses, visa costs, and health insurance.
The application window will open on June 29, 2026, and will close on July 26, 2026. Prospective candidates are required to submit their applications directly through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website.
