Lawal Joseph Abdul has recounted the harrowing experience his family endured during a recent armed robbery incident. He posted photographs illustrating the extensive damage inflicted by the assailants as they forced their way into his residence on the night of Saturday, October 17.

Abdul described the ordeal, stating, "Last night was one of the most traumatic nights of my life." He further detailed the terrifying moments: "Imagine waking up at 2:00 a.m. to the sound of more than 30 people trying to force their way through your gate. Then, suddenly, they broke through your burglary proof and entered your house with one of the brightest torchlights I have ever seen straight to your eyes." His immediate concern was his family's safety. "At that moment, all I could think about was keeping my family together. I held my phones and other belongings, prepared for the worst, hoping they would take whatever they wanted and spare our lives," he recounted.

The incident has left the entire family deeply traumatized. Abdul noted the profound impact on his young son, who has since become withdrawn, refusing food and clinging to his father. "He keeps crying, and every loud sound from outside scares him. It is heartbreaking to see a little child go through such an experience," Abdul lamented. He also expressed dismay over the complete absence of security response, despite the robbers operating for over an hour. While acknowledging the severity of the situation, he expressed gratitude that "nobody was hurt and that my family and I are safe. We are physically okay."

In a subsequent social media update, Abdul highlighted a particularly brazen moment during the robbery. "Imagine a robber asking us to call Police," he wrote, quoting the assailant who reportedly declared, "'If you like call Police, nothing will happen'." This statement, Abdul concluded, underscores the severe challenges facing Nigeria.
