Taraba Kidn*ppers Demand N30 Million for Three Abducted Individuals

Full Story
Three individuals recently kidn*pped in Taraba State are currently being held for a ransom of N30 million, their abductors have confirmed. The victims, identified as Abdulrasheed Mai Mota Hussaini, Ezekiel Elkanah, and Mrs. Wapuken Ika, were reportedly seized on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in Rafin Kada, located within the Wukari Local Government Area of the state.
Reports indicate that the trio was on their way back from Takum town, where they had gone to purchase paddy rice, when they encountered a gang of suspected kidn*ppers. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Sunday, along the Takum-Wukari Road. According to sources, the travellers were part of a two-vehicle convoy when they approached Jakundo village in Kufai-Ahmadu Ward.
It was at this point that approximately four armed men emerged from nearby bushes, instructing the vehicles to halt. The gunmen then forced the occupants to disembark before leading them into the surrounding wilderness. While the exact whereabouts of the victims remain undisclosed, their families have reportedly been contacted, with the kidn*ppers demanding N10 million for each person.
This incident follows another similar occurrence early last month, where four traders from Kano were abducted along the Rafin Kada-Donga Road. For their release, the abductors in that case demanded a sum of N50 million. It remains unclear whether these four traders have since been freed, as police authorities have not yet issued an official statement or confirmation regarding either incident.
