Hart Seeks to Prevent Montia Sabbag's Court Appearance in Legal Dispute

Full Story
Comedian Kevin Hart has reportedly filed a motion seeking to bar Montia Sabbag, the woman at the centre of his 2017 adult film controversy, from giving testimony in his ongoing legal clash with former assistant, Miesha Shakes. This development, according to court documents obtained by TMZ, comes after Shakes included Sabbag on her witness list, proposing she could offer insights into the controversy and the subsequent legal actions against Hart.
Hart's lawsuit against Shakes stems from an interview she granted to blogger Tasha K, where she allegedly divulged details about his private life. The comedian contends that Shakes violated a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) she signed upon her departure from his company. Shakes, who served Hart from 2017 to 2020, counters that the NDA is invalid because Hart purportedly failed to meet his own obligations under their employment terms.
In his recent court submission, Hart's legal team asserts that Shakes' witness list was presented without prior consultation, deeming the move improper. Furthermore, Hart argues that the inclusion of Sabbag is a deliberate attempt to cause him embarrassment and generate media attention, rather than to introduce relevant evidence pertinent to the core issues of the case.
Hart has implored the court to disallow Sabbag and other proposed witnesses unless Shakes can concretely demonstrate the direct relevance of their potential statements to the legal proceedings. He maintains that the only individuals whose testimonies are crucial to this dispute are himself, Miesha Shakes, and Tasha K. The popular comedian claims that Shakes' interview has significantly harmed his public image and is therefore seeking unspecified monetary compensation for the damages incurred.
