Dr. Yahaya Sa’idu, who served as the Chairman for Fufore Local Government Area in Adamawa State, has sadly passed away following a short illness. Ahmed B. Yusha’u, the Information Officer for the council, confirmed the unfortunate news through a press statement released to journalists in Yola on Saturday, October 10.

According to Yusha’u, Dr. Sa’idu breathed his last at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, while receiving treatment at a hospital located in Kaduna. Further information regarding his burial rites will be communicated subsequently. This tragic event occurs just eighteen months after the demise of his forerunner, Shaibu Basbas, who also passed away during his tenure as chairman.

Tributes and messages of sympathy have already started to stream in for Dr. Sa’idu’s bereaved family, his colleagues, and the entire populace of Fufore. Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, the representative for Adamawa Central senatorial district and a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, voiced his profound shock upon learning of the incident.

Through a WhatsApp message disseminated on Saturday, Senator Abbas lauded Sa’idu as a committed and diligent leader, emphasizing that his contributions to Fufore and Adamawa State would be greatly missed. “Dr. Yahaya Saidu was a committed leader who gave his best in service to his people. My heart goes out to his family, friends, associates, and the good people of Fufore Local Government Area during this very difficult time,” Senator Abbas stated. He further offered prayers, asking Allah to bestow strength and endurance upon the grieving family and community to cope with this significant loss.

Similarly, Ahmad Lawan, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Security to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, conveyed his sorrow and extended his deepest sympathies to Dr. Sa’idu’s family, relatives, and the residents of Fufore.
