Ondo Farm Tragedy: Three Siblings' Bodies Recovered After Search

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed a heartbreaking incident where three young siblings were found deceased on a farm situated near the Owena Army Barracks in Akure. The tragic discovery occurred on September 5, 2026, following a search initiated after the children went missing the previous day, September 4, 2026.

The victims were identified as Joshua Jonah and Jacob Jonah, both 11-year-old twins, and their younger sister, Blessing Jonah, aged 5. Reports indicate that the children had accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm. Later, they reportedly left the farm to return home. However, their absence was noted when Mr. Jonah arrived back at his residence without them.

A subsequent search operation was launched, which regrettably concluded on Saturday, September 5, with the recovery of the three children's bodies. They were discovered close to the bank of a small river located within the farm premises.

In response to the grim event, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has mandated a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The Command stated its commitment to meticulously gather all pertinent facts and circumstances surrounding the unfortunate occurrence, aiming to ascertain the precise cause of the children's deaths.

Furthermore, the police command issued a strong advisory to the public, particularly parents and guardians. They were urged to exercise heightened vigilance over their children, especially when in proximity to rivers, ponds, streams, and other bodies of water, to avert similar avoidable tragedies.
