Adamawa Police Nab Five Suspected Shilla Boys in Yola

The Adamawa State Police Command has announced the apprehension of five individuals believed to be part of the notorious 'Shilla boys' gang, accused of causing unrest among residents of the Kofare area in Yola, the state capital. These suspects, whose ages range from 18 to 23 years, are reportedly connected to a series of robbery incidents specifically targeting the Kofare Masallaci Biyu axis within the Yola South Local Government Area.

The arrests took place in the early hours of Tuesday, September 1. This operation was launched following critical intelligence received by the police regarding a recent robbery attack that occurred in Kofare. The command clarified that a dedicated tactical unit from the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters executed the arrests, with significant support from local community members.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, released a statement to journalists, confirming the identities of the five apprehended youths as Nura Aliyu, 20; Abubakar Adamu, 21; Abubakar Muhammed, 23; Abdulhameed Yusuf, 18; and Yusuf Husseini, 20. All five individuals are confirmed residents of the Kofare community.

Furthermore, the police reported the recovery of five cutlasses, which are believed to have been used by the suspects in carrying out their alleged robbery operations. The command indicated that the arrested individuals would undergo further investigation to fully ascertain their involvement in the reported criminal activities plaguing the community.
