Plateau: Woman Falls Victim to Suspected Fulani Militia Ambush in Riyom

A tragic incident has been reported from Batok 2 Village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, where a woman was killed by individuals believed to be Fulani bandits. The unfortunate event unfolded around 9:00 PM on August 28, 2026. Security analyst, Zagazola Makana, confirmed that troops from Sector 6, operating under Operation ENDURING PEACE, were dispatched to the community following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, the security personnel conducted a thorough search of the area, which led to the discovery of the lifeless body of a local resident identified as Mrs. Helen John. Initial findings from the investigation suggest that the assailants had allegedly set an ambush, concealing themselves within a maize farm located near the victim's home. It is believed they attacked Mrs. John while she was engaged in her household chores.

The specific circumstances surrounding this attack are currently under active investigation by security agencies.
