Sabon Birni Security Surges as Armoured Vehicles Hit the Ground, Says LG Chair

Full Story
Hashimu Dantudu, the Chairman of Sabon Birni Local Government Area in Sokoto State, has announced a marked improvement in the security situation across the region. This positive development is largely attributed to the recent deployment of armoured vehicles acquired by the state government.
Dantudu shared this update on Sunday during a visit by a state government delegation to Tsamaye Village within Sabon Birni LGA. The delegation, led by the State APC Leader, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, was in the community to offer condolences to residents following the passing of Alhaji Amadu Malale, the local government APC Chairman.
According to the council chairman, the introduction of the armoured vehicles has played a crucial role in curbing criminal attacks and enhancing the visible presence of security operatives in the area. "Cases of attacks have reduced tremendously since the deployment of the armoured vehicles in the area," Dantudu affirmed.
He lauded Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the strategic procurement and deployment of these vehicles, describing the initiative as a significant step forward in the ongoing statewide battle against banditry. "We are indeed witnessing the presence of security personnel in our area more than before," he added.
Dantudu conveyed his confidence that the state government's unwavering commitment to bolstering security measures would ultimately lead to the eradication of banditry. He further pledged the local council's continuous support and collaboration with security agencies in their efforts to combat banditry and other forms of criminal activity. Sabon Birni remains one of the local government areas in Sokoto State that has historically grappled with persistent security challenges stemming from bandit incursions.
It can be recalled that the Sokoto State government recently acquired 62 armoured vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles. These assets are intended for distribution among various security agencies to strengthen their operations against bandits and other criminal elements throughout the state.
