Family Feud Unfolds as Deceased Man's Mother Counters Daughter-in-Law's Allegations

The late Ahmed's mother has finally spoken out regarding the allegations made by her daughter-in-law, Tosin Omolola, which have been circulating on social media. According to Tosin, her husband's family started harassing her just eight days after his death. However, in a video sent to LIB, the grieving mother denied claims that her husband, 62-year-old Omolola David, was trying to lock Tosin out of her matrimonial home in a viral video. The mother explained that the video was recorded two years ago, in 2024, at their family residence, and not at the property left behind by her late son. She further alleged that her family had to intervene during her son's illness due to Tosin's lack of proper care. 'After Ahmed fell ill, my husband and I decided to bring him and our grandchildren to our home because Tosin wasn't taking good care of him,' she claimed. The mother stated that Tosin had stormed their residence, causing a scene, and her husband locked the estate gates to prevent the situation from escalating, which was the moment captured in the viral video. This development has added a new layer to the dispute, which has already caught the attention of local human rights activists and the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA). The family dispute has now become a legal matter, with human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu intervening and the Lagos State Police Command arresting Tosin's 62-year-old father-in-law, Omolola David. On Friday, July 31, David was arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate Court on a two-count charge of threat to life and assault against his daughter-in-law. Although the court granted him bail, he remains in police custody due to his inability to meet the bail conditions and is expected to be released next week once he perfects his bail requirements.
