Video Shows Terrifying Moment Gunman Chases Woman Into Convenience Store in Pitt County

"27-Year-Man Wanted For Attempted First-Degree Murder, As Dramatic Surveillance Video Shows Johnson With A Gun Chasing A Woman Into A Gas Station In Pitt County.

WITN has obtained surveillance video that shows a man with a gun inside the Kash and Karry, chasing a woman into the store.

She is seen jumping over the counter and running into what looks like the back office, while two employees hold back the man as he tries to follow her.

The name of the gunman has been released as the search continues in Pitt County after deputies reopened a highway closed for most of Friday afternoon.

A white Ford pickup truck that deputies say is owned by the gunman was towed from the area, as Deputies search most of the afternoon for 27-year-old Canyjzi Johnson, of Nashville.

Johnson is wanted for attempted first-degree murder.

Deputies shut down East Hanrahan Road near the Weyerhaeuser plant to all traffic because of the manhunt, around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

The sheriff’s office says it started at the Kash and Karry store on Highway 11 and East Hanrahan Road just before noon.".
