Bauchi Police uncover impostor behind Malikiyya College security breach

A 22-year-old man, Ahmed Saleh, has been apprehended by the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly impersonating a security officer and committing various crimes at the Malikiyya College of Health Sciences in Old GRA, Bauchi. According to the command's spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, Saleh was arrested following a distress call from the college on July 24, 2026. Preliminary investigations revealed that Saleh, who claimed to be attached to the Garu Security Service in Bauchi, gained unauthorized access to the female students' lodge at about 2:30 a.m. while wearing a full police camouflage uniform. The police were alerted to the incident and promptly arrested Saleh, recovering the police uniform as evidence. Further investigation linked Saleh to a series of theft cases within the hostel area. The Commissioner of Police, CPSani-OmoloriAliyu, warned individuals and private security outfits against impersonating security agencies and assured the public of the command's commitment to ensuring safety in educational institutions. The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
