Tanko Habila Wisdom, the father of the deceased Mary Habila, has made a heartfelt appeal to the relevant authorities to release his daughter's body for burial. In a video statement, Wisdom expressed his desire to lay his daughter to rest, emphasizing that he does not wish to have an autopsy conducted. He stated, 'I am Tanko Habila Wisdom, the father of the late Mary Habila. I don’t have much to say in this case, all that I want is the corpse of my daughter.' Wisdom described the prolonged retention of his daughter's body as unnecessary and urged the authorities to release it without delay. He reiterated that his primary concern is to give his daughter a dignified burial, saying, 'You don’t keep corpse of a little child for so long just like this and that’s why I am here to say once and for all that I need the corpse of my daughter to take her for burial. That’s what I am standing on.' Wisdom also disclosed that his family has maintained a cordial relationship with the Minister of Works, where Mary was employed, and they do not suspect any foul play. 'We have been having very cordial relationship with the Minister of Works, her workplace and we don’t want that autopsy they are talking about,' he said. Wisdom emphasized that he is not accusing anyone of being responsible for his daughter's death, noting that death is an inevitable part of life. 'I am not suspecting anybody because death can occur at anytime even as we are standing here and now, one can fall here and die,' he said. The family's plea comes amid public interest in the circumstances surrounding Mary Habila's death, with the authorities being urged to release her body to enable her burial.
