Achimugu's N4.6bn Jewellery, Exotic Cars Seized by Court Order

In a landmark ruling, an Abuja High Court sitting in Apo has ordered the permanent forfeiture of assets worth billions of naira to the Federal Government. These assets, which include jewellery valued at N4.645 billion and 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.293 billion, are linked to businesswoman Ms Aisha Achimugu. The court's decision was made on Thursday, July 16, 2026, by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie, following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the final forfeiture of the properties. The forfeited items also comprise $50,000 cash and N30 million cash, all of which are high-value personal effects and cash holdings linked to Achimugu. This judgment is the culmination of the anti-graft agency's efforts to have the assets permanently forfeited to the government. The details of the ruling, as delivered by Justice Onwugbuzie, highlight the court's stance on the matter. The EFCC's application for the assets to be forfeited was granted, marking a significant step in the agency's fight against corruption and illicit wealth accumulation.
