The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has reported a significant operational achievement following precision air strikes that demolished a terrorist base. This successful operation took place at Yaganari, within Borno State's Gezuwa general area, on July 10, 2026.

According to a statement released on Saturday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, this feat was accomplished after the Air Component received credible intelligence regarding heightened terrorist activities and a noticeable gathering of fighters in the vicinity. Subsequently, the Air Component launched intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which conclusively confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and crucial logistics hubs.

“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement affirmed. It further highlighted that this successful operation underscores the increasing pressure on terrorist elements, whose operational freedom and capacity to regroup are being severely curtailed by continuous aerial assaults.

Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), lauded the professionalism of the personnel involved. He reiterated the Nigerian Air Force's unwavering commitment to maintaining relentless offensive operations against any threats to national security. The CAS stated, “The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge.” He emphasized, “We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.”

Air Marshal Aneke concluded by stressing that the Armed Forces of Nigeria are steadfastly progressing in consolidating the significant gains already achieved in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
