Lawyer Claims DJ Chicken Detained After Video Targeting President’s Son

Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, a prominent Disc Jockey and TikTok personality, has reportedly been taken into custody. His legal representative, Rotimi Stephen, alleged in a Thursday Instagram video that the controversial comedian was apprehended in Ikeja and is currently being held at the police headquarters in the area. Stephen suggested that officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) might be involved in the matter.

According to the lawyer, DJ Chicken’s arrest is linked to a video he recently uploaded where he made certain comments regarding Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son. Stephen stated, “So, Dj Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja and he is now at Ikeja Police headquarters but I am very sure it is the DSS. He was arrested in connection with the statement he made some days ago about the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu.”

Stephen appealed to the public, particularly DJ Chicken’s fans and those connected to the Presidency, to intervene and facilitate his client’s release. He emphasized that the video believed to have triggered the incident is already widely circulated.

Describing DJ Chicken as a personal mentee and a project he has supported for years as part of his commitment to youth development, Stephen pleaded, “Please, fans and well wishers please. People that like Chicken and people that are close with the presidency please forgive Chicken. He is not that okay. We are just managing him. Chicken is my own personal project. It is my own part of giving back to the society. I just picked interest in him as a criminal lawyer. We are just managing him and he knows. he is still part of the society. We are begging please. Government should please forgive him. We will do everything.”

Expressing his distress over the situation, the lawyer admitted uncertainty about the next steps, saying, “I don’t know what to do again. They should please.”

DJ Chicken, known for his often provocative social media content, had previously shared a video where he remarked in Yoruba, “Tinubu, you can’t win the election. If you win, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I won’t say more than that.” This clip quickly gained significant traction online.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from either the Nigeria Police Force or the Department of State Services regarding the alleged arrest or the specific reasons for DJ Chicken’s detention.
