A devastating incident occurred on Friday, July 10, 2026, at a construction site in Kano State, where a two-storey building under construction suddenly collapsed. The building, located at Sultan Road in the Nasarawa Local Government Area, gave way around 9 a.m., trapping four people under the rubble. According to eyewitnesses, construction workers had noticed signs of structural failure while working on the top floor and quickly rushed to safety. Unfortunately, four individuals, including a security guard and a tricycle rider, were caught in the collapse. One of the workers, Shuaibu Yaro, confirmed the incident and stated that three victims had been rescued, while efforts were ongoing to save the fourth person. Yaro explained that the workers had started taking sand upstairs when the site engineer noticed the signs of collapse, prompting them to rush to safety. However, three people were in front of the gate and one other person was trapped. The rescued victims, including the security guard and his friend, have sustained injuries and were rushed to Sir Muhammadu Sanusi Hospital in Kano for treatment. As of the time of filing this report, rescue operations were still underway at the site.
