Niger State Attack: Driver Slain, Three Traders Abducted on New Bussa-Ibbi Road

A commercial vehicle driver, identified as Jibrin Mohammed, tragically lost his life after encountering a terrorist roadblock on the New Bussa-Ibbi road within Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. Mohammed, also known by his alias "Dogon Bodies," was transporting six traders back from the weekly Sabon-Pegi market when their vehicle ran into the terrorists' barricade around 10 PM on Sunday.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Daily Trust, the attackers immediately opened fire upon the vehicle. Jibrin Mohammed died instantly, while three of his passengers sustained various gunshot wounds. In a further escalation of the incident, the terrorists proceeded to abduct the remaining three traders.
The witness detailed the event, stating, “Terrorists suspected to be members of the Lakurawa group in large numbers blocked the Ibbi–Patiko–New Bussa road around 10pm yesterday (Sunday). They operated for several hours. Jibrin was k!lled, and three of his passengers sustained serious injuries and three others were kidnapped.” The armed group reportedly operated for several hours, causing significant disruption and fear along the highway.
