in Portable Toilet at Michigan Music Festival — Deceased Infant Found

A tragic incident has cast a somber shadow over the Electric Forest music festival in Michigan, following the discovery of a deceased newborn baby. The infant was reportedly abandoned in a portable restroom within the festival's camping grounds.
The grim find occurred on Sunday morning, June 28, when a maintenance staff member was carrying out routine duties at the annual event. Michigan State Police have since confirmed the ongoing investigation into the discovery of what they termed a 'deceased neonate' in the camping area of the Electric Forest Festival.
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance. In an official statement, the police urged: "If you were in the area and observed anything unusual, or if you have information that you believe may be relevant, we encourage you to come forward." The statement also included a plea for discretion, adding, "We appreciate the public’s cooperation and ask that people avoid speculation on social media out of respect for the investigation and those affected." As of now, specific details surrounding the discovery remain undisclosed.
The organisers of Electric Forest expressed their profound sorrow via an Instagram post. "Forest Family, it causes us so much pain to have to share this difficult news with you," their statement read. They reiterated the ongoing Michigan State Police investigation and encouraged anyone with information to assist. The post concluded, "HQ is heartbroken and knows that our Forest Family is as well."
This year's Electric Forest festival featured prominent headliners such as Illenium, Excision, Kaskade, and Chris Lake. The four-day spectacle, historically known as the Rothbury Music Festival, took place from Thursday, June 25, to Sunday, June 28, showcasing numerous DJs and artists. The event is an annual fixture at the Double JJ resort in Rothbury.
Separately, festival attendees experienced an evacuation during the weekend due to severe stormy weather. Revellers received an announcement via loudspeaker: "Attention in the festival. We are evacuating the festival site due to severe weather. Please seek immediate shelter outside of the festival venue. The festival app will have further updates."
