India: 4-Year-Old Murdered in Revenge Over 2021 Election Dispute

A 45-year-old Indian man is facing accusations of kidnapping, r@ping, and m8rdering a four-year-old girl, reportedly to settle a long-standing grievance with her family that originated from a 2021 election rivalry. Police confirmed the arrest of a co-accused on Sunday, while the primary suspect remains at large.

Kasganj SP OP Singh, speaking to Times of India, stated, "The main accused is on the run. He wanted to teach the family a lesson and hence conspired with the co-accused to commit the heinous crime. During questioning, the co-accused confessed. Both belong to the victim's village. Teams are trying to nab the absconding man soon."

The young victim was reported missing from a village in Kasganj district, Agra, on June 6, 2026. Her father promptly filed a missing person complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR on the same day. Tragically, the child's body was discovered on a secluded part of the village three days later.

Following the post-mortem examination, additional charges were integrated into the FIR. These include BNS sections 103(1) for murder, 238 for causing disappearance of evidence, 65(2) for r@pe on a minor under 12 years, 66 for causing d3ath or a persistent vegetative state, and 61(2) for criminal conspiracy, alongside relevant sections of the Pocso Act.

The father, who is employed at a household goods-manufacturing company in Faridabad, Haryana, recounted the incident in his complaint: “My daughter came to our village in Kasganj district from Faridabad with her mother, myself and three of our other children to meet her ailing grandfather. She had just stepped outside the house when she was kidnapped on June 6. They later mercilessly k!lled her.” Investigators later uncovered that the main accused harbored deep animosity towards the victim's family, a sentiment that had festered since an electoral dispute during the 2021 gram pradhan polls.
