Tragedy Unfolds as Mississippi Police Fatally Shoot One-Year-Old Kohen Kartier Wiley

A devastating incident has occurred in Mississippi, where a one-year-old boy, Kohen Kartier Wiley, lost his life after being shot by a police officer. The officer, who was responding to a reported shoplifting incident at Walmart, opened fire on the vehicle in which Kohen was a passenger, along with his mother and aunt. According to the Senatobia Police Department, the women were driving towards the officers, prompting one of them to discharge their weapon. The vehicle then fled the scene, and the occupants later arrived at a hospital, where Kohen was pronounced dead, and another person suffered critical injuries. Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with one recounting how the police were waiting in the parking lot as the two women, one carrying a box of diapers and the other holding baby Kohen, exited the store. Another witness reported seeing the officers running on foot, chasing after the car, before hearing gunshots. Carolyn Stokes, Kohen's great-grandmother, expressed her outrage and frustration, stating that the Senatobia Police Department has a history of questionable actions. The incident has sparked widespread concern and raised questions about the use of force by law enforcement. As the investigation unfolds, the community is left to grapple with the tragic loss of a young life.
