Delta Road Landing: Keyamo Condemns Breach of Aviation Regulations

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed serious concerns over the recent landing of a private aircraft on a road in Delta State. According to Keyamo, the incident is a clear breach of aviation regulations and poses a significant threat to national security. The aircraft, which was supposed to land at the Asaba Airport, instead landed on a concrete road that is still under construction in the Ogwashi-Uku area. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has grounded the aircraft and suspended the operator's permit pending a comprehensive investigation. Keyamo stated that the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the aircraft's departure without authorization, are unacceptable and constitute a serious breach of aviation regulations and security protocols. The minister has assured the public that a thorough and transparent investigation will be conducted, and all necessary actions will be taken based on the findings. The NCAA is working closely with the aircraft operator, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, and other stakeholders to determine the full circumstances of the incident. Keyamo has also disclosed that the flight crew is currently in the custody of relevant security agencies and is assisting investigators. The minister emphasized that no individual or operator will be allowed to circumvent established aviation procedures designed to safeguard lives and maintain the integrity of Nigeria's airspace system. The NCAA will undertake a thorough review of all operational, airworthiness, maintenance, and flight-related records associated with the aircraft and operator and will not hesitate to impose further enforcement actions as may be warranted under the applicable civil aviation regulations.
