Suspected criminal arrested for aiding kidnapping and militia gangs in Plateau

Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a 27-year-old suspected criminal logistician accused of supplying support services to kidnapping and militia gangs operating in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The suspect, identified as Kabiru Usman, was arrested at about 7:15 p.m. on May 21, 2026 following credible intelligence from informants. The troops intercepted the suspect along the road near Dong-Rantya Roundabout while he was returning from the Bukuru cattle market. According to the security sources, the suspect allegedly specialises in buying and selling stolen items, including motorcycles and mobile phones, looted during kidnapping operations and criminal attacks within the area. The military said the suspect was currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action. Security situation within the area of responsibility remained calm, while troops sustained high morale and operational efficiency.
