Renowned American rapper Lil Wayne, aged 43, has officially announced the end of his relationship with 23-year-old social media personality Madi Cannon. The confirmation came as the artist addressed his fanbase during a stop on his ongoing “20 Years of Carter Classics” tour.

A video circulated online shows Lil Wayne speaking on various topics concerning his tour, including widespread speculation about his romantic life and his notable absence from the initial show held in Maine. The rap icon firmly refuted earlier reports suggesting that he and Cannon were engaged, clarifying that while they shared "a beautiful thing going," they ultimately decided to part ways. He explained his decision, stating that he did not wish to be "such a burden on such an amazing person."

Rumours of a possible engagement between the duo had been circulating since May 2026, but the rapper explicitly stated that they were never formally engaged. Furthermore, Lil Wayne provided an explanation for missing the opening performance of his tour, attributing his absence to severe migraines and concerns over potential seizure risks, which rendered him unable to perform.

Although he has since rejoined the tour, some fans have expressed their dissatisfaction following his late arrival for a concert in New Hampshire. The cancelled performance in Maine has been rescheduled for July 28, with his next scheduled appearance set to occur in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 16.
