A man took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a receipt revealing he was charged an astounding ₦6,000 for the simple item, sparking widespread disbelief and condemnation.

In his post, the man expressed profound shock over the exorbitant cost, labeling it as sheer exploitation. He vehemently argued that no level of branding or luxury could possibly justify such a price for what he described as a basic commodity. "No matter how rich I'm there're things I can never buy," he wrote, emphasizing his stance. He continued, stating, "You can't expect me to buy just 2 boiled eggs for 6k. This is totally annoying and shouldn't be encouraged cuz it's pure extortion. There's no branding that can make this make sense to me."
