A protest by members of the Nigeria Labour Congress has brought Air Peace flight operations to a standstill across the country. The union members, who are reportedly working with the airline, have locked up the terminals, effectively grounding all flights. This development has resulted in significant disruptions, particularly at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where a scheduled Air Peace flight could not depart as planned at 6:30 a.m. Similar disruptions have been reported at airports nationwide, leaving numerous passengers stranded. According to the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Michael Achimugu, 'Yes, it is a union thing. When I get to the airport, I will be able to get more factual details of the situation.' A social media user, YoufoundAlex, shared his experience, stating, 'I have a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja today, but unfortunately, I am currently stranded at the Lagos airport due to an ongoing protest by Air Peace workers, which has resulted in the shutdown of the airport and disruption of flights.' As of the time of filing this report, management of Air Peace has yet to comment on the incident, and it remains unclear whether the protest has affected other airlines. The situation has caused significant inconvenience to passengers, who are eagerly awaiting a resolution to the dispute.
