Soludo Calls for Unity Among States to Boost Investment and Job Creation

Nigeria's improving economic landscape has sparked a wave of fresh investment opportunities, according to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo. He emphasized the need for state governments to collaborate in driving economic growth and creating jobs. Soludo made this statement at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, where he commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for organizing the event. The Anambra governor noted that recent economic reforms have strengthened macroeconomic stability, improved foreign exchange reserves, and created a more predictable environment for investors. He recalled withdrawing Anambra State from a World Bank loan programme due to concerns over exchange rate risks, but expressed confidence in the improved economic environment. Soludo stressed that no state can achieve sustainable economic development alone and called for stronger collaboration among the Federal Government, state governments, and local governments. He specifically urged Delta and Anambra states to strengthen their partnership, particularly with the completion of the Second Niger Bridge. The governor suggested that both states could collaborate in areas such as trade, industrialization, and investment promotion. Soludo also commended the organizers of the summit for focusing on practical outcomes and advised governments to make investment promotion a continuous process. He advocated for greater support of locally made products to create jobs and strengthen the economy, citing his own decision to wear locally produced fabrics as an example.
