Lagos Supermarket Engulfed in Morning Inferno

A devastating fire broke out in the early hours of the morning at a popular supermarket located in the Akowonjo area of Lagos State. The incident, which occurred at a store near Jimoh Bus Stop, Egbeda-Akowonjo, was promptly responded to by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. According to the Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, the fire affected the second floor of the commercial building, where the electronics section of the store is housed. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly deployed their equipment and commenced a coordinated operation to contain the fire, prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building, and ensure the safety of lives, property, and the environment. The fire has been successfully extinguished, and recovery efforts are ongoing to complete the mop-up exercise. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by an alternative power source, specifically a solar inverter system. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded in the incident. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service was able to respond swiftly and effectively, preventing the fire from causing more damage.
