Trump Unveils 'Super Intelligence' As AI's New Official Name

United States President Donald Trump has declared a new official designation for artificial intelligence, stating it will now be known as “Super Intelligence”. Trump made this pronouncement on Tuesday during his inaugural address at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York. He justified the change by explaining that the existing term “artificial” inaccurately suggests the technology is fake, despite its profound capabilities.

“The United States also totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control for the artificial intelligence being spoken of so much now, hereinafter officially called Super Intelligence, changing the name,” Trump stated, emphasizing his administration's opposition to international oversight of the technology. He elaborated on his reasoning, saying: “In that the use of the word artificial makes intelligence fake. It makes it sound fake, and it is not fake. It’s actually amazing, but we have to be careful.”

Trump further indicated that official US government documents would undergo revisions to reflect the new nomenclature, transitioning from “Artificial Intelligence” to “Super Intelligence”. He expressed optimism that this revised terminology would be embraced by other nations globally. “In fact, it is exactly the opposite of what it purports. From this point forward, all of United States documents, and hopefully the world’s, will be changed to use the much more accurate term: Super, as opposed to artificial. So, it’s Super Intelligence,” he asserted.

He added, “In other words, welcome to the new world of Super Intelligence, SI. SI. Let’s see if that goes. It sounds much better, it is much better, and it’s much more accurate. Let’s see if I have any power. Maybe I do, and maybe I don’t. We’re going to find out pretty soon.” This significant announcement follows a period where Trump had engaged his social media followers, inviting them to vote on alternative names for artificial intelligence. He had previously suggested options such as “Superior Intelligence”, “Extreme Intelligence”, and “Supreme Intelligence”, arguing that “Artificial Intelligence” was both imprecise and “very ineloquent” and seeking a more elegant and accurate description for the advanced technology.
