VIDEO: Oyo Grandmother Cry Out to Gov Makinde Over Abducted Family Members

In a heart-wrenching appeal, a grandmother from Oyo State has begged Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene in the rescue of her daughter-in-law and four grandchildren, who were abducted by terrorists in the Oriire Local Government Area.
The grandmother made this emotional plea when Governor Makinde visited the community on Saturday, urging him to ensure the safe return of the captives, who have been held since armed men invaded schools and communities in the area.
Her daughter-in-law, Mary Akanbi, a teacher, was among those abducted, and the grandmother identified her as the woman carrying a baby on her back in a viral video.
The attack on schools and communities in the Esiele and Yawota areas of Oriire Local Government Area has triggered widespread fear, with several people, including teachers and pupils, taken away by the attackers.
The grandmother's appeal is part of growing calls by relatives of the victims for authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of those still being held captive.
Family members and residents have continued to urge the Oyo State government and security agencies to take urgent action to ensure the safe return of the abductees.
During the governor's visit, the husband of Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Esiele, also appealed to him to intensify efforts to secure the release of his wife and other victims abducted by terrorists.
The husband expressed gratitude to the governor for the efforts made so far but pleaded with him not to relent until all the captives are freed.
In a video seen by SaharaReporters, the distraught husband urged the governor to continue pursuing the rescue of all those being held by the abductors.
Governor Makinde responded by embracing the man and appearing to reassure him that efforts were ongoing to secure the release of the captives.
On Friday, SaharaReporters reported that Mrs. Akanbi had appeared in a fresh video released by the terrorists, saying, 'We are pleading with Governor Seyi Makinde, please help us, negotiate with these people.
Whatever they want, please give to them. We are all here; we the teachers and the students.'
In another video, Alamu also appealed to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Makinde to negotiate with the terrorists holding them, warning that one of the captives had been marked for execution following an alleged failed rescue attempt by security operatives.
The visibly distressed school principal said the use of force by government security agents had worsened their situation and placed the lives of the abductees in greater danger.
'Please I am here again to beg the government. President Tinubu and the governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde to please help us and dialogue with this people,' Mrs. Alamu pleaded.
'They should not use force. The force they have used yesterday has caused us so much. It has added to our problems. In fact, one of us has been picked that they are going to kill him because government tried to help us by force.
