Arsenal Goalkeeper Raya Applauds Team's 'Incredible' Recovery with Third Consecutive Victory

Full Story
Arsenal's shot-stopper, David Raya, has lauded the Gunners' remarkable turnaround, labeling their resurgence with three consecutive victories since the international break as "incredible." This impressive run comes after Mikel Arteta's squad faced a surprising 3-0 defeat against Brighton last month.
The North London club, preparing for their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, had ample time to reflect on the loss. However, upon regrouping, they have clinched three straight wins, the latest being a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, sealed by Noni Madueke's late goal.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Raya expressed his satisfaction: “We came back very, very strong, especially after that tough defeat against Brighton and having 19 days since then to play a game. The way we responded, the way we played, the way we came back, is incredible, you know.” He added, “So, delighted with the performances we have put in every single game. There are things to improve, of course, as always, but we just take the positives, and we’re looking forward to Wednesday now.”
Despite Madueke's 80th-minute deflected strike being Arsenal's sole shot on target at the City Ground, the nature of the victory underscored the team's proven ability to secure results even when not at their free-flowing best—a characteristic crucial to their title success last season.
Raya further elaborated on the team's display: “(We showed) maturity and a lot of desire. Keep doing the right things and the ball will get into the net. We had experiences in the last two years where we drew 0-0 here (Forest), so I think we showed a lot of character to keep digging for the result, and in the end with a few crosses and a few of Bukayo’s (Saka’s) balls, the ball went in thanks to Noni.” He concluded by praising his teammate: “He’s a special player, and it’s going to be a special goal for him to get the win at such a difficult ground and such a difficult team. So, I’m delighted for him.”
