InDrive Rider Seeks Recovery of ₦450,000 Mistakenly Sent to Driver

A Nigerian woman is currently appealing for public assistance following an unfortunate incident where she erroneously transferred a significant sum to an InDrive driver. The passenger, whose identity was not disclosed, reportedly intended to pay a fare of ₦4,500 for her ride but instead sent ₦450,000 to the driver's account.

According to her account, the error was detected almost immediately after the transaction was completed. She promptly reached out to the InDrive driver, requesting a refund of the excess amount. However, despite her repeated attempts to recover the funds, the driver has allegedly declined to return the money, offering various explanations for the refusal.

The driver reportedly claimed that the bank account into which the substantial sum was transferred does not belong to him but was rather opened by another individual. This explanation has not satisfied the distraught lady, who continues to seek help in getting her ₦450,000 back. The incident highlights potential risks associated with digital payments and the challenges faced by users when such errors occur.
