Full Story
Brazilian winger Raphinha, a key player for Barcelona, has reached an agreement to extend his stay with the Catalan giants until 2030. This development was confirmed by the club's sporting director, Deco, during their general assembly held on Saturday.
Raphinha has enjoyed an exceptional start to the current season, currently topping La Liga's goalscoring charts with an impressive nine goals from just six appearances. Notably, he has achieved this feat while deployed in an unfamiliar central striker role.
Speaking on the matter, Deco stated, “Raphinha’s renewal is quite advanced… Rafa will be with us for the next four years,” highlighting the significant progress made in securing the player's future.
Furthermore, Deco disclosed that promising young talents, Xavi Espart and Marc Bernal, are also slated to sign fresh contracts with the club in the days ahead. He remarked, "They are three players who we’ve got sorted for renewals in the last week."
Raphinha, who is 29 years old, initially joined Barcelona in 2022, arriving from Leeds. His significance to the squad grew considerably following the arrival of coach Hansi Flick in 2024.
