PSG's Qatari Investors Finalise Full Takeover of Belgian Side KAS Eupen

The Qatari consortium behind French football giant Paris Saint-Germain officially announced on Thursday the complete acquisition of Belgian club KAS Eupen. This formalisation follows their initial takeover of the second-tier team's operations several months prior.

In a recent statement, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) confirmed the finalisation of its purchase of KAS Eupen. The statement further clarified that this move establishes QSI's complete ownership of the club, building on its prior assumption of KAS Eupen's sporting management in December 2025.

According to the statement, both QSI and the Belgian side have collaborated extensively to establish a robust framework for the club's sustained athletic and commercial expansion. It is worth noting that the Qatari investors first secured a majority share in PSG back in 2011, and they have also maintained a minority interest in Portugal's Braga Football Club since 2022.

Following their acquisition of PSG, the French club has experienced significant domestic triumphs, clinching numerous Ligue 1 titles since 2011. KAS Eupen itself has been under Qatari influence since 2012, primarily through the Aspire Academy. The academy leverages the club as a development platform and springboard for promising young football talents. Notably, the club faced relegation to the Belgian second division in May 2024, concluding an eight-season stint in the country's top-tier league.
