Italian club Como has officially finalized the transfer of defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea in a lucrative agreement valued at over £30 million. The 27-year-old centre-back, according to a BBC Sport report on Saturday, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Serie A side. Como, having secured a fourth-place finish last season, is gearing up for its UEFA Champions League campaign.

The London-based Chelsea will initially pocket £25.7 million for Chalobah, with an additional £5.1 million potentially coming from performance-related add-ons, following extensive discussions between both clubs. This significant transfer marks the conclusion of Chalobah's almost two-decade-long journey with Chelsea, a club he joined as a young boy.

Throughout his tenure at Stamford Bridge, the versatile defender amassed 151 first-team appearances across various competitions. His time with the Blues saw him lift five major trophies, notable among them the FA Cup in 2018 and the Conference League in 2025. Prior to establishing himself in the senior squad, Chalobah gained valuable experience through loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, Lorient, and Crystal Palace. An England international with two senior caps, he also received a late invitation to join England's World Cup squad.

Welcoming the new acquisition, Como manager Cesc Fabregas lauded Chalobah as a crucial reinforcement capable of elevating the squad's performance. Fabregas stated, “Trevoh is an important signing for us and a player who represents the level of ambition we have at this club. He is a leader who can raise the level of the team, and I am very happy that he has chosen Como.”

Chalobah, on his part, expressed immense satisfaction at joining the Italian outfit and the prospect of working again with Fabregas. He remarked, “I’m thrilled and honoured to be here at Como: it’s an ambitious, rising project, and working with manager Cesc Fabregas again is truly special.” As Trevoh Chalobah embarks on this fresh chapter of his career in Italy, Como aims to further fortify its roster in anticipation of its demanding Champions League commitments.
