Chelsea Makes Initial Offer for Bayer Leverkusen's Kerim Alajbegovic

According to reports from Kicker, Chelsea Football Club has made its first move to acquire the services of Bayer Leverkusen's young attacking talent, Kerim Alajbegovic. The offer from the Premier League club is valued at over €30 million. However, Bayer Leverkusen is hopeful of securing a deal worth around €40 million, including performance-related bonuses. Discussions between the two clubs are progressing, and there is a possibility of reaching a swift agreement. Nevertheless, Chelsea has not yet begun negotiations with Alajbegovic's representatives regarding personal terms. The 18-year-old is currently training on his own in Bosnia and Herzegovina but is expected to join Leverkusen for pre-season training on Monday, unless the situation with Chelsea changes. It is worth noting that Alajbegovic has already submitted a transfer request and seems eager to leave Leverkusen without making his senior debut for the club. Leverkusen had previously sold Alajbegovic to RB Salzburg for approximately €2 million in July 2025 but exercised an €8 million buyback option to reacquire him. The club is now open to selling him again, with his market value estimated to be around €22 million. Alajbegovic's impressive performances for Salzburg and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team have attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Atalanta, Napoli, and Juventus. However, Chelsea's offer has put them in a strong position to sign the young talent. If the deal goes through, Leverkusen stands to make a significant profit, having only recently brought Alajbegovic back to the club.
