AS Monaco is poised to complete a significant player sale, as rising star Aladji Bamba is set to join an English club in a lucrative transfer deal. The Principality club, which has been active in the transfer market securing Ansu Fati from FC Barcelona, Sadibou Sané from FC Metz, and Flavio Nazinho from Cercle Bruges, has also been focused on offloading players.

Monaco has already seen the departure of Caio Henrique to Ajax Amsterdam, Kassoum Ouattara to Besiktas, Radoslaw Majecki to Pafos, and Krépin Diatta on a free transfer. Now, they are on the verge of another major financial boost. According to reports, English club Newcastle United has finalized the acquisition of 20-year-old defensive midfielder Aladji Bamba.

Bamba is expected to arrive in England today to complete a transfer valued at €41 million, which includes €5 million in bonuses. Additionally, AS Monaco will retain a percentage of any future resale value for the player. This represents a substantial sale for the Monégasque club, especially considering that Bamba, a native of Blois, has only featured in 25 matches, providing 2 assists. He began the season in a substitute role before cementing a starting position in the latter half, a performance that earned him a spot in the Golden Boy top 100.

For Newcastle, Bamba's arrival marks their fourth signing of the current transfer window. The Magpies have already committed €95 million on new players, including Bazoumana Touré from Hoffenheim, Sean Steur from Ajax Amsterdam, and Ewen Jaouen from Stade de Reims. Manager Eddie Howe is keen to bolster his midfield options, particularly as Sandro Tonali has already moved to Tottenham, and there are speculations surrounding the potential departures of Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.
