Andrey Santos Set for Old Trafford After £50m Chelsea-United Agreement

Reports indicate that English Premier League giants, Manchester United, have successfully finalized a £50 million agreement to acquire Chelsea's highly-rated midfielder, Andrey Santos. This substantial transfer package comprises an initial guaranteed payment of £48 million, with an additional £2 million structured in performance-related add-ons. Furthermore, Chelsea Football Club has secured a 10 percent sell-on clause, ensuring future financial benefit should Santos be transferred again.
The Brazilian international is currently making arrangements to undergo his mandatory medical examination with the Old Trafford outfit. Santos initially moved to Chelsea from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, subsequently gaining experience through loan spells at fellow Premier League club Nottingham Forest and Chelsea's affiliate team, Strasbourg.
Manchester United's pursuit of the 22-year-old talent reportedly intensified following their inability to secure two prior midfield targets. These included Elliot Anderson, who transferred from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for a hefty £116 million, and Mateus Fernandes, whom Tottenham Hotspur acquired from West Ham United for £85 million.
During the previous season, Santos made 43 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, demonstrating his impact by netting three goals and providing four assists. In related news, Manchester United are also reportedly close to finalizing another significant acquisition, with Brazilian midfielder Ederson from Serie A club Atalanta widely anticipated to make his move to Old Trafford soon.
