Fulham Sweetens Bid for Nigerian Footballer Chibuike Nwaiwu

English Premier League outfit Fulham has intensified its efforts to sign Nigerian central defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, tabling a new and enhanced proposal. This follows the rejection of their initial attempt by his current club, Trabzonspor of Turkey.

Reports from the Turkish publication Fanatik indicate that Fulham's first offer, valued at €15 million, did not meet Trabzonspor's expectations. Consequently, the London-based team escalated their interest by presenting a second bid amounting to €20 million for the 22-year-old centre-back.

While Trabzonspor is reportedly receptive to the idea of selling the young talent, they are said to be seeking a transfer fee considerably higher, specifically between €30 million and €35 million.

Beyond Fulham, another English top-flight club, West Ham United, is also reportedly keeping a close watch on Nwaiwu's availability and transfer developments.

Nwaiwu made the switch to Trabzonspor from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC just this past January. Since then, he has rapidly cemented his position as a pivotal figure in their defensive line, with his stellar displays now drawing significant interest from various English clubs.
