Buratai Questions Security Agencies' Ability to Track Bandits

Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, the former Chief of Army Staff, has expressed doubts about the inability of security agencies to locate bandits in their hideouts. This comes after bandits have been openly flaunting their ransom money on social media, sparking public frustration. During an appearance on TVC, Buratai noted that the same intelligence and tracking capabilities used to apprehend ordinary citizens and social media influencers should be applied to locating bandits. He stated, 'I don't think they fail to locate. If they can locate ordinary citizens or social media influencers, I don't believe they cannot locate these bandits that flaunt their loots or their activities.' Buratai emphasized the need for capacity building among security agents to effectively combat the evolving tactics of bandits. He suggested that the security agencies should be able to track down bandits using the same methods they use to track down ordinary citizens and social media influencers. The former Chief of Army Staff made these comments in response to growing concerns about the impunity of bandits and the perceived lack of capacity of security agencies to track them down.
