Sunday Igboho Awaits FG Nod for New Security Outfit, Iru Ekun

Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has announced plans to establish a new security outfit named 'Iru Ekun Security Network'. The term 'Iru Ekun' translates to 'the tail of a leopard' in the Yoruba language. According to Igboho, the primary objective of this security outfit is to rid the forests of the south-west geopolitical zone of criminals. In a statement released to the press on Monday, Igboho revealed that all necessary documents have been submitted to the federal government for approval. He expressed his readiness to collaborate with relevant security agencies, including the police, Department of State Service, Nigeria Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to tackle insecurity in the region. Igboho stated, 'We have submitted all the required documents for our registered security firm, Iru Ekun Security Network and only waiting for the Federal Government approval which will be granted soon.' He also expressed his commitment to complying with the executive order issued by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, aimed at regulating the activities of private security groups in the state. The governor's executive order is designed to facilitate coordination of security efforts and ensure that all groups involved in security-related activities operate within a clear legal and operational framework. Igboho emphasized the importance of peace and security in achieving socioeconomic development, particularly in rural communities. He noted that President Bola Tinubu's administration is committed to addressing insecurity not only in the south-west but also in other regions. Igboho's security outfit is expected to support the government's efforts in maintaining peace and order in the region.
