Lagos APC Enlists Top Entertainers for Campaign Council Directorate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has unveiled a comprehensive list of entertainment industry heavyweights appointed to its Campaign Council's Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate. This strategic move sees veteran actor Jide Kosoko, alongside popular Fuji musicians Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, and Adewale Ayuba, join the political fold. Also featured are prominent Nollywood actresses Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, and Bimbo Akintola, among many other notable figures from the creative sector.

The full composition of the campaign council, including this specific directorate, was officially released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre. Its inauguration is slated for Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat located on ACME Road, Ikeja. Within the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, Toke Benson-Awoyinka has been designated as the Director. Veteran actor Jide Kosoko will serve as Co-Director, while actress Eniola Badmus takes on the role of Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi, widely known as Ajala Jalingo, is listed as the Secretary, with Dare Olateju appointed as Assistant Secretary.

The Yoruba movie industry contributes significantly to the directorate's membership, featuring respected figures such as Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, and Tayo Sobola.

The Fuji music scene also boasts strong representation within the council. Apart from Pasuma, Obesere, and Ayuba, other celebrated musicians like Sulaimon Alao Adekunle (Malaika), Akorede Babatunde Okunola (Osupa), and Temitope Adekunle (Small Doctor) have been included.

This directorate forms a crucial part of the larger campaign council, which operates under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman and Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman.
