APC Youth Leaders Nationwide Endorse Olawande's 2027 Campaign Mobilisation Role

Youth leaders affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory have collectively affirmed their complete support for the inclusion of Mr. Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, in the Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 general election. The nation's ruling party, the APC, officially released the full list of members for its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council on Saturday, confirming Olawande's appointment as the Director of Youth Mobilisation for the council.

In a statement released to the press on Monday, Zaka Nehemiah, who serves as the Chairman of the Forum of 37 APC State Youth Leaders, described Olawande's new position as a strategic and appropriate step towards effectively mobilizing young people across the country in anticipation of the 2027 polls. The forum's statement also conveyed congratulations to Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari on his appointment as the Director-General of the campaign council. It further expressed the youth leaders' readiness to collaborate with Olawande to ensure the presidential campaign's message reaches every corner of the nation, particularly targeting grassroots communities.

The official communication further highlighted Mr. Olawande's background, stating: “Olawande’s experience as a former Youth Leader in Ondo State has equipped him with a strong understanding of grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement and political coordination. His appointment further underscores the importance of young people in the political process and reflects a commitment to giving youth leaders a meaningful role in the mobilisation and coordination of the 2027 campaign.”

Moreover, the forum outlined its extensive organizational structure, which encompasses more than 19,533 youth leaders spread across 17,802 wards, 1,548 local government areas, 109 senatorial districts, the 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory. This vast network, they pledged, would offer full support and cooperation to the youth minister as he carries out his responsibilities within the campaign council. The group explicitly declared, “Our members would deploy their grassroots structures and networks towards effective youth mobilisation and the broader objectives of the Presidential Campaign Council.”

Finally, the forum conveyed its strong conviction that the combined leadership capabilities of Senator Yari and the proven youth mobilization expertise of Olawande would significantly contribute to a well-organized, inclusive, and ultimately victorious campaign leading up to the 2027 elections.
