Gombe State APC Sets Ambitious Target, Inaugurates Reconciliation Committee Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a bid to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State and ensure a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections, Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has inaugurated a 25-member reconciliation committee. The committee, chaired by Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, is tasked with the responsibility of healing internal divisions within the party, promoting dialogue, and reconciling aggrieved members. Governor Inuwa Yahaya charged the committee to engage all stakeholders with fairness and sincerity, with the ultimate goal of delivering no fewer than one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming elections. The governor acknowledged that the recent congresses, primary elections, and local government polls may have disappointed some party members, but emphasized the need for unity and cohesion within the party. 'Perfection belongs only to Almighty God. As human beings, we are bound to make mistakes in our daily dealings. It is therefore understandable that some decisions and outcomes arising from these political processes may not have gone down well with some of our members, particularly those who aspired for elective offices but were unsuccessful,' he said. The governor expressed confidence in the committee's ability to deliver on its mandate, citing the members' proven integrity and experience. The committee's terms of reference include serving as the party's internal conflict resolution and peace-building body, identifying and documenting grievances, and promoting dialogue and mutual respect among party members. Responding on behalf of the committee, Chairman Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau assured that members would work diligently to accomplish the assignment and strengthen the APC in Gombe State. Earlier, the Gombe State APC Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for constituting a credible and highly respected reconciliation committee, urging members to justify the confidence reposed in them by working tirelessly to reunite the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
