New UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham Unveils Plans to Tackle Cost of Living Crisis

Andy Burnham, the newly appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has pledged to address the cost of living crisis in his first speech as the country's leader. Burnham, who is the fifth Prime Minister in four years, stated that his administration will introduce measures to alleviate the financial burden on citizens, starting from tomorrow. He also emphasized the need to end rough sleeping and increase the number of council homes, while maintaining the country's defence commitments. The Prime Minister's first official tasks will include selecting his new cabinet and making key phone calls to world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. Burnham has assured the public that the UK's support for Ukraine will remain 'steadfast and resolute'. In his speech, he also expressed his commitment to bringing respect and teamwork to politics, acknowledging the need for improvement in the country's governance. The new Prime Minister's wife, Marie-France, accompanied him as he entered 10 Downing Street, where he was greeted by staff and began his work in the new role.
