Dan'iya Vows to Bring Inclusive Governance to Sokoto in 2027

Honourable Manir Muhammad Dan'iya, the African Democratic Congress' gubernatorial candidate for Sokoto State, has reaffirmed his commitment to establishing a government that is open, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the people. This pledge was made during a courtesy visit by leaders from the three senatorial zones of Sokoto, who came to pay their respects to Dan'iya at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities. Dan'iya emphasized that his vision for the state is built on the principles of accountability, consultation, and responsiveness to the people's needs, stating that 'government exists to serve the people, not the other way round.' He further explained that his administration would maintain an open-door policy, ensuring that governance reflects the genuine needs and aspirations of the citizens, rather than catering to the desires of a select few. Dan'iya also stressed the importance of sustainable development, which he believes can only be achieved when the government remains closely connected to the people and actively engages stakeholders in decision-making processes. The former deputy governor noted that Sokoto State deserves a government that prioritizes public welfare, security, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic growth. According to him, the ADC is prepared to offer credible leadership capable of addressing the challenges confronting the state and improving the living conditions of residents. Dan'iya urged party leaders and supporters across the three senatorial districts to remain united and committed to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 polls, saying 'the task before us is to build a stronger and more inclusive political movement that reflects the hopes and aspirations of our people.' He expressed confidence that Nigerians are increasingly seeking political alternatives that can deliver effective governance and economic opportunities. The governorship candidate thanked the visiting delegation for their loyalty to the party and assured them that the ADC would remain committed to promoting good governance, peace, development, and social justice. The meeting was attended by the ADC State Chairman, Honourable Abdullahi Maigwandu, members of the State Executive Committee, party stakeholders, and supporters from across the state. The leaders from the three senatorial zones, led by Prof. Aminu Abubakar Illela, Honourable Abubakar Sadik Sanyinna, and Honourable Kabiru Hali, congratulated Dan'iya on the successful Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and reaffirmed their support for his governorship ambition. They pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization and political engagement across their respective zones to strengthen the party's structures and enhance its chances in the 2027 general elections.
