Tinubu's Govt Making Impact in Abuja, Says Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has asserted that the impact of President Bola Tinubu's administration is being felt by residents of Abuja. During a media chat on Monday, Wike addressed concerns regarding the perceived lack of impact of government programmes on citizens. He expressed skepticism about claims that the administration has not made a significant difference, suggesting that such views are often driven by sentiment. 'When people say they are not feeling the impact of the government, I ask, is it just something we say to criticize the government?' he questioned. Wike acknowledged that the government has not achieved all its goals but argued that its efforts should not be dismissed outright. 'I'm not saying the government has done everything, but we should not dismiss what has been achieved,' he said. He emphasized that residents of Abuja should be able to recognize the ongoing developments and interventions under the administration. 'If you live in Abuja, can you truthfully say you don't feel the impact of this government?' he asked, urging citizens to separate their political preferences from their assessment of government performance. Wike noted that while the administration has not fully delivered on its promises, progress is ongoing, and there remains 'hope' in the direction of the administration's policies.
